Personal Records Fall for Women’s Outdoor Track & Field at Sean Collier Invitational

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field saw 15 personal-records written Saturday at MIT's Sean Collier Invitational at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track.  

Of the three blue-and-gold hurdlers in the 100, two notched personal-best, Julia Hunt (17.06) and Isabelle Slocum (18.07), while the other, Klaudia Rushi (17.90), made her event debut. Hunt's time was good for eighth in the 18-participatned field.  

All of Suffolk's sprinters in the 100, 200 and 400 put together personal records. 

Amanda Walden (13.06) and Lauren Wood (13.06) finished one after another in fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 100. 

Walden claimed sixth in the 200 with a time of 26.55. Alyssa Rodriguez (28.29) claimed 15th and Emily Concepcion(30.38) notched 27th. Rodriguez (1:06.01) and Concepion (1:06.45) made a full lap around the track as well. Rodriguez took 15th in the 24-runner field with Concepion finishing two spots behind her in 17th.  

In the 800, Jocelyn Triscik compiled a personal-best of 2:30.89 to place just outside the top-10 in 11th. Katelynn Brunt (2:39.54), Therese McKeagney (2:44.28) and Klaudia Rushi (2:45.70) were featured in the 30-runner field as well. Rushi ran two laps around the track for the first time in her career.  

Sarah Roberts and Daisey Jones rounded out the Rams runners in the 1500. Roberts put together a personal-best time of 5:29.01 to take 19th. 

Nicole DiBenedetto and Catherine Brown leaped to personal records in the high jump. DiBendetto cleared 1.48 meters and Brown got over 1.43 meters. 

Lauren Wood leaped a personal-best 4.89 in the long jump, which put the junior fifth in the 21-jumper filed. Hunt had a 4.37-meter leap to take 15th. Hunt also participated in the triple jump. The senior combined the three leaps for 9.27 meters, a personal record. 

Suffolk's had five fielders over three events. 

Four of the five, Allison RodriguesOlivia NicholsonGracie O'Connell and Payton Dockus, competed in the javelin. Rodrigues (29.89) and Nicholson (25.95) took spots in the top-10 with O'Connell (25.41) in 11th. Dockus (14.98) rounded out the group in 22nd.

Rodrigues (25.25) joined Caitlyn Filloramo (27.23) in the discus.  

Filloramo also tried her hand in the hammer throw, where she placed fifth with a 47.70-meter heave. O'Connell (22.87) was in the hammer field as well.  

Suffolk will compete in the CCC Championships Saturday, April 30 at Gordon's Brigham Athletic Complex.
