Filloramo Picks Up CCC Field Rookie of the Week

CCC RELEASE

BIDDEFORD, Maine – Caitlyn Filloramo of the Suffolk women's outdoor track & field team secured Commonwealth Conference (CCC) Field Rookie of the Week status after her standout showing at the Tufts Snowflake Classic over the weekend.

A native of Southport, Connecticut, Filloramo made her outdoor collegiate debut in a pair of fielding events in Somerville Saturday where she put together a pair of podium finishes. The freshman garnered a second-place showing in the hammer throw behind a toss of 43.98 meters, which ranks fourth in the East Region. The throw made her a qualifier for the New England Championships, set to take place May 6 at Lee Track in Williamstown, Massachusetts. In the shot put, she logged a 10.48-meter throw to finish third.

Filloramo is the first Ram to be recognized with a league weekly honor this season and first Suffolk student-athlete to receive a weekly distinction since Amanda WaldenAllison Rodrigues and Grace Dreher each received a recognition April 12, 2021. Filloramo is the first CCC Field Rookie of the Week since Dreher took home the same nod April 12, 20221.

Suffolk will be back in action this weekend at a pair of events: the Regis Spring Invite Friday, April 8 and the Gordon Invitational Saturday, April 9.
