Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Races into 2022 Season at BSU Bears Invite

BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Suffolk women's outdoor track and field team commenced its 2022 season, taking on teams of the NCAA's three divisions at the BSU Bears Invitational at Swenson Field on the campus of Bridgewater State on Saturday. 

In 100m dash action, Amanda Walden and Lauren Wood led the way for the Rams, finishing eighth and 15th, respectively. Walden's time of 13.29 lands her inside the top-ten regionally, as the sixth fastest runner, while Wood's finish of 13.61 puts her just outside at No. 11. 

Grace Danehy (15.02), Nicole DiBenedetto (15.12), Isabelle Slocum (15.67) joined Walden and Wood in the 100.  

Klaudia Rushi and Alyssa Rodriguez made their outdoor debuts in the 200. Rushi registered a time of 29.64, while Rodriguez clocked a 29.95. Leah Doucot (34.86) competed in the event as well.  

Skyler Spanbauer finished the 1500m in 5:11:38 to land slide into 12th in the 63-runner field Saturday. That performance boosted her to the top of the event's leaderboard in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and sixth regionally. Katelynn Brunt also finished inside the top-20, earning the tenth best time in the region with a time of 5:24.99 

In the 400, both Jocelyn Triscik (12th – 1:05.77) and Emily Concepcion (15th – 1:06.55) placed within the top 15. 

Therese McKeagney raced to a 13th place finish in her two laps around the track behind a time of 2:44.11. 

Julia Hunt's 18.01 time in the 100m hurdles guided her to a 12th place finish. 

The Suffolk 4 x 100 relay team of Concepcion, Walden, Wood, and Lucia Seide sprinted to a fourth-place performance with a time of 54.10, good for sixth in the east.
