Dorion Paces Women’s Indoor Track & Field at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON – Amalia Dorion put together one of the best performances in NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field this season to anchor the Suffolk women's indoor track & field team's effort at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Invitational.  

Dorion zoomed to a program-best in the mile of 4:53.13, the sixth-best performance in the event in DIII this season. That effort placed the graduate student 100th in the 276-runner field.

The trio of JJ Conteh (7.97), Hilma Ortega (8.23) and Catherine Madden (8.62) sprinted the 60. 

Ortega (27.61) also raced the 200 along with Emily Concepcion (27.65), who raced one lap around the track in the 400 in 59.73). 

Catherine Madden hurdled the 60 in 10.22.

Suffolk is set to compete at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championship Sunday, Feb. 23 at Harvard's Gordon Indoor Track.
