CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Suffolk women's indoor track & field tallied nine personal records and three school records at the USATF New England Indoor Track & Field Championships Sunday at Harvard's Gordon Indoor Track.
RAMS RECORDS
- Amanda Walden put together a pair of personal records. The first dueled as the school record as well in the 200 at 25:61. In the 60, the senior ran a career-high 7.92.
- Alyssa Rodriguez clocked a PR in the 400 of 1:02.31.
- Seniors Sydney Fogg and Sarah Roberts both tallied a personal-best in the mile. The former ran 5:19.66, while the latter crossed the tape in 5:36.95.
- Catherine Madden logged a 60 hurdles personal-best and program record of 9.84.
- Sasha Helfgott-Waters jumped to a school record and personal-best in the triple jump with a 32-9.25 leap.
- Both pole vaulters, Molly Hennegan and Kara Sickle, notched a personal-best of 10-4.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Walden anchored the Rams contingent in the 60 as she dashed to fourth. Leticia Lantero (8.56) and Chelsea Fallon (8.82) were featured in the field as well.
- Walden's school-record in the 200 of 25.61 was good for fourth. Emily Concepcion (26.77) was six spots behind her co-captain to finish in the top-10 as well. Rodriguez (27.63), Kaylie Groom (28.15), Fallon (29.17), Lantero (29.58) and Ainsley Dion (33.18) were featured in the 200 field as well.
- Concepcion (58.77), Rodriguez (1:02.31) and Groom (1:03.90) made one lap around the track in the 400.
- Mallory Taylor (2:40.38), Jocelyn Triscik (2:41.69), Jaenelle Bryant (2:51.09), April Banuelos (2:58.81) and Daisey Jones ran in the 800.
- Fogg finished ninth in the mile behind a time of 5:19.66. Roberts took 23rd in the same event that featured Bailey Ford (5:37.51) as well.
- Madden took sixth in the 60 hurdles thanks to her time of 9.84. Bryant ran a 11.90 in the 60 hurdles.
JUMPERS JIST
- Helfgott-Waters claimed eighth in the triple jump (39-9.25).
- Hennegan and Sickle each cleared 10.4 in the pole vault.
- Catherine Brown jumped to sixth in the high jump (4-11).
- Evelyn Lansing finished 19th in the long jump (13-3.5).
THROWERS THOUGHTS
- Divinety Johnson (27-11.75) and Maddie Moore (26-6) both competed in the shot put.
- Gracie O'Connell took ninth in the weight throw (33-5.5).
WHAT'S NEXT?
Suffolk's student-athletes that qualified for the New England Division III Regional Championships will compete this weekend.
