Women’s Track & Field Ranked Ninth in East Region in USTFCCCA Poll

USTFCCCA DIVISION III REGIONAL RANKINGS 

NEW ORLEANS – For the first time in program history, Suffolk's women's indoor track & field team has cracked the top-10 in the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III East Regional Rankings as the Rams landed ninth in the week 1 poll, the national organization announced.  

Regional rankings are based on a point system. Each individual student-athlete's performance is given a point value based on finishes throughout the season. Suffolk sealed up ninth with 123.14 points with nine top-10 individual regional performances, which are outlined below. The ninth-place position comes after four Rams have punched their tickets to New England Regionals through four events this season. Senior captain Walden earned a regional bid in three events – 60, 200 and 400 --, while Concecpion (400), Davis (5000), Pattelena (Mile) and JJ Conteh secured spots in their respective events as well.  

Suffolk is set to split up at multiple events this weekend with Rams set to compete at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic and USM's Husky Invitational Jan. 26-27.
