MEDFORD, Mass. – Suffolk women's indoor track & field saw pair of Rams earn their spot at New England Regionals at Tufts Branwen Smith-King Invitational Saturday at the Gantcher Center.
REGIONAL RAMS
- JJ Conteh sealed her spot at NCAA Division III New England Regionals in the 60.
- Amanda Walden earned her third ticket to regionals this season, now with a spot in the 400.
RAMS RUNNERS
- Conteh clocked an 8.04 in the 60 to finish second overall. Hilma Ortega qualified for the finals after running an 8.38 in the prelims. She took sixth overall.
- Walden and Emily Concepcion finished first and second in the 400. The former clocked a 1:00.35 with the latter finishing in 1:00.39. Kaylie Groom and Samantha Dauria claimed spots in the top-10 in the 400 as well in the field of 24. Groom's m1:04.68 was good for sixth and Dauria was two spots behind her in 1:05.47.
- Concepion was just off the podium in the 200 in fourth with a time of 27.61.
- Oretga claimed fifth in the 60 hurdles with a finals time of 9.93.
JUMPERS JIST
- Catherine Brown cleared 1.51 in the high jump to take fifth in the 16-participant field.
- Sasha Helfgott-Waters took 10th in the triple jump with a 9.66-meter leap.
- Evelyn Lansing (4.39) represented the Rams in the long jump.
POLE VAULT POSITION
- Helfgott-Waters and Devyn Battistoni tied for sixth at 3.10.
- Molly Hennegan's 2.95 was good for ninth.
- Kara Sickle took 12th at 2.80.
THROWERS THOUGHTS
- Divinety Johnson (8.74), Lydia Comprosky (7.91) and Maddie Moore (7.60) all competed in the shot put.
- Gracie O'Connell (10.96) and Sharaden Caldwell (10.54) participated in the weight throw.
RAMS RECORDS
- Freshmen Conteh's 8.04 in the 60 finals was a personal record, while Ortega's 8.38 preliminary 60 time was a PR. Their classmate Samantha Dauria logged a personal-best of 8.68 in the event as well.
- Ortega's 9.88 60 hurdles preliminary time marked a career-high for the freshman.
- Jaenelle Bryant logged a personal-best 2:03.20 in the 600.
- Brown tied a program record in the high jump with a personal-best 1.51m.
- Helfgott-Waters had a career-high in both events she compete; pole vault (3.10) and triple jump (9.66).
YOU'RE NEW HERE
- Chelsea Fallon and Ainsley Dion ran the 60 for the first time in their collegiate careers.
- Malloy Taylor (800) and Maria Gallant (mile) made their collegiate indoor debuts.
- Bailey Ford (1000) and Sarah Roberts (3000) ran new events.

Suffolk splits up next weekend, Jan. 26-27, at three events; River Hawk Invitational, John Thomas Terrier Classic and Husky Invitational.
