Women’s Indoor Track & Field Finishes Fourth at Thomas Small School Open

WATERVILLE, Maine – The Suffolk women's indoor track & field team put together a fourth-place showing at the Thomas Small School Open Saturday at Colby College. Eight Rams competed in four events. 

Allison Rodrigues highlighted the pack as the freshman captured the shot put event with a toss of 11.07 meters. The field of eight featured Rodrigues' teammate Savannah Hunter, who recorded a throw of 9.51 meters, good for fifth. 

A Rams pair was featured in the 10-runner field of the 400 meter dash as well in Megan Qualters and Julianna Trost. Qualters had a runner-up showing with a time of 1:07.17, while Trost placed seventh. 

Mai Linh Vankirk ran the mile in 6:40.14. 

The foursome of Natalie Fay, Olivia Chilcott, Qualters and Skyler Spanbauer joined forces for the 40 distance medley. The quartet finished the event in 14:44.01. 

Suffolk turns its attention to the USATF New England Championships, which are on the schedule next Sunday, Feb. 17 at Harvard University.
