BOSTON – In her first action of the 2018-19 indoor season Suffolk women's track & field junior Emma Weisse punched her ticket to the New England Division III Championships at Boston University's Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener Saturday, Dec. 1.

Weisse opened the season by shaving 30 seconds off her 5000 meter personal-record, completing the course in 17:54.90 to clinch a spot at the championships. The qualifying time for that event is 18:50 with Suffolk's student-athlete beating that mark by nearly one minute. 

Suffolk's season continues next weekend at the Rhode Island College Invitational and Northeastern's Howlin' Husky Invite.
