Manfra, Weisse Run at BU’s John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON – Suffolk women's indoor track & field sophomores Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse took on some of the top runners in New England Friday, Jan. 26 as the pair represented the Rams at the 2018 John Thomas Terrier Classic, hosted by Boston University. 

Weisse headlined the performances as she qualified for her second New England Championships event in the 5k. The Hampden, Massachusetts product, slimmed 51 seconds off her personal record, crossing the finish line in 18:28.49 to seal up her spot at New Englands. Weisse initially qualified for the championships in the 1000M at the Tufts Invitational thanks to her winning time of 3:11.72. 

Manfra, meanwhile, took the 500 M course, and finished 58th overall in the field of 88 thanks to her 2:24.46 time. 

The pair rejoins the team and is back in action this weekend, Saturday, Feb. 3 at the Wesleyan University Invitational.
