Richard Karban joined the Suffolk women's tennis staff as an assistant coach in 2019. Karban's second season under Steve Counihan is 2020.

Karban joined Suffolk with experience as a tennis professional at a handful of clubs across the Bay State. Currently, Karban works at Belmont Hill Club, assisting the director of tennis and providing for clinics for all ages.

In his first season at Suffolk, Karban oversaw the development of the Rams' young team that featured just six players from the sophomore and freshman classes. With his help, Ilda Ascic earned All-GNAC second team.

Prior to Belmont, Karban worked at Winchester Indoor Tennis and Mattakesett Tennis Club as a tennis professional providing lessons and clinics for members. 

Karban returns to the college coaching scene after a two-year hiatus. He got on the collegiate season at Emerson, where he assisted the Lions' tennis program during the 2017 spring slate. 

A 2014 graduate from Ohio Wesleyan, Karban earned a bachelor’s degree in International Business, while also being a four-year letterman for the Bishops.
