Suffolk women's tennis fell to Salem State, 6-1, in its season debut Saturday afternoon at the Central Tennis Courts.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is 0-1 on the year after falling at Salem State, 6-1, Sept. 7.  

The Rams lone point of the season-opening came from Elene Nishnianidze in the sixth singles slot. 

The twosome of Rachel Hill and Nia Bebb combined for a victory on the second doubles court, but it would not be enough for the blue-and-gold to take the doubles point. 

CNE OPENERS

  • Suffolk is 0-3 in its first CNE contest of the season. 
  • The Rams have lifted the lid on their CNE scheduled on the road once, a year ago. Suffolk lost that outing, 9-0 at Gordon. 
  • At home, Suffolk boasts a 1-1 mark in the first CNE match of the season. 
  • The Rams first and only win in a CNE opener game in 2021 in the form of a 6-3 decision over Curry. 
  • The blue-and-gold has battled Gordon (0-1), Endicott (0-1) and Curry (1-0) in the first CNE match of a campaign. 
  • There have been two sweeps in Suffolk's CNE first match of a season. 

FIGHTING SCOTS FACTS
Gordon boasts a 1-0 record after besting Simmons, 4-3, Sept. 2.  

Chloe Hanley (No. 3), Amanda Kim (No. 4) and Gianna Hallam (No. 6) have all recorded a singles point for the Fighting Scots this season on their respective courts. 

In doubles, a pair of partnerships have recorded a victory in Amanda Kim and Hanley in the second slot and Emma Tiemens and Hallam in the third position.
