BOSTON – Suffolk women's tennis in action tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 28 when it welcomes Roger Williams to Belmont Hill. The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match between the Rams and Hawks is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Suffolk women's tennis captured its first win of the Drew Goldstein era with a 6-3 victory over Saint Joseph (Conn.) Sept. 19 night at Belmont Hill.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk (1-3) entertained the win column Sept. 19 with a 6-3 win over Saint Joseph (Conn.). The Rams sit winless, 0-1, in CCC contests after being blanked by Endicott, 9-0, Sept. 14. 

Caren Urbano has been played exclusively as the blue-and-gold's ace. She sports a 2-2 record. Rachel Hill is also 2-2 in singles action on the season with action on the fourth (2-1) and fifth (0-1) courts, respectively. 

The duo of Urbano and Hill have made up Suffolk's top tandem and sport a 2-2 ledger.

HAVE TO KNOW 'BOUT THE HAWKS
Roger Williams is unbeaten on the year, 8-0, and untouched by CCC opponents, 4-0. The Hawks have put together five shutouts on the season.

Emma Place (6-2) has held down the top singles sport for RWU. Gianna Ferraro is unbeaten on the year, 8-0, all from the second slot. Place joins forces with Alessia Cahoon as the top partnership. The duo hold a 6-1 mark. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and Roger Williams last met Sept. 28, 2021.
  • The Hawks shutout the Rams, 9-0, to keep the blue-and-gold out of the win column in the all-time series, 0-6.
  • RWU has swept Suffolk in three meetings in a row. Overall, the blue-and-gold has been kept off the scoreboard four times against the Hawks.
