BOSTON – Suffolk women's tennis caps off its regular-season this weekend with matches at UMass Dartmouth and Curry. The Rams will first stop by UMass Dartmouth Friday, Oct. 14 for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference clash, before facing the Colonels in Milton, Massachusetts, Saturday, Oct. 15 at 12:00 p.m.

Suffolk women's tennis fell in its home finale to Nichols, 9-0, Wednesday night at Belmont Hill.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk (1-8, 0-6 CCC) looks to end its year on a high note and capture its first win since a 6-3 triumph over Saint Joseph (Conn.) Sept. 19. 

The Rams will look to their ace Caren Urbano (3-6) to help get the job done, while seniors Alyssa Blade (0-9), Barbara Consales (1-5) and Bianca Prescott (1-8) will conclude their collegiate careers this weekend.  

CORSAIRS CATCH-UP
UMass Dartmouth is on a three-match skid that pushed the Corsairs back to 9-5 on the year. 

IsaBella Winter sports a single 12-2 record, all from the first position. Zuri Walters is successful from the second slot, while Allan O'Connell sports an 11-3 mark with time on courts three and four, respectively. 

Ailey Riddick and Winter have spent the most time as the Corsairs top team and are 10-3. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Suffolk and UMass Dartmouth renew a rivalry, meeting for the first time since 2018.
  • Since 2013, the Rams and Corsairs have met five times.
  • Suffolk is 2-3 against UMD.
  • The Corsairs have defeated the Rams in the last two meetings.
  • Suffolk's last win came in a 5-4 thriller Sept. 15, 2015.

COLONELS CATCH-UP
Curry (0-11, 0-6 CCC) has been unable to play into the win column this year.  

Sasha Borkov has competed as the Colonels ace as of late. She partners up with Sophia Wieirnusz, who opened the year on the first singles court for Curry, as the team's top tandem.
