BOSTON – Suffolk women's tennis is in store for back-to-back matches again this week with Rhode Island College and Endicott on the Rams' schedule. First, the blue-and-gold head to Providence, Rhode Island, for a Tuesday, Sept. 13 tilt with the Anchorwomen at 4 p.m. before hosting the Gulls the following day, Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's tennis team was taken down by Bridgewater State, 9-0, Thursday afternoon at the Rosen Memorial Tennis Courts.

RAMS RUNDOWN
Suffolk is 0-2 on the season after falling at Simmons (6-3) and Bridgewater State (9-0) in its opening-week action.  

Caren Urbano has played exclusively as the Rams' ace (1-1). She is one of two Suffolk student-athletes to hold a singles win along with Rachel Hill, who picked up the decision on the fourth court against the Sharks. The junior, sophomore pair have partnered as the top tandem in both outings thus far and sport a 1-1 mark. 

ANCHORWOMEN ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Rhode Island College took down Salve Regina, 8-1, in its 2022 debut to bring a 1-0 record into Tuesday's tangle.  

Jenna Lisi played and won in the first singles slot. Lauren Macera (No. 2), Clara Siegmund (No. 4), Serena Bobola (No. 5) and Sarah Gonick (No. 6) recorded singles win in the season opener as well. 

All three of the Anchorwomen's double pairs are unbeaten this year. Lisi teamed up with Macera on court one with Amia Sommer and Amara Devin assembling the second squad and Bobola and Erica Botelho making up the third partnership. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • Since 2001, Suffolk sits 4-12 against Rhode Island College. 
  • Suffolk has lost the last seven contests against RIC including back-to-back shutouts. 
  • The Rams last win over the Anchorwomen came in 5-4 fashion Sept. 27, 2012 at Belmont Hill. 

GET TO KNOW THE GULLS
Endicott sits 1-1 on the year with an 8-1 win at Colby Sawyer and a 6-3 setback to Stonehill.  

Ripley Uyeda (1-1) has held down the No. 1 singles slot for the Gulls. She is also an ingredient to the top doubles team that has featured Lejla Guster (1-0) and Shelby Henry (0-1). 

INSIDE THE SERIES

  • The Suffolk, Endicott series dates back to 1994. 
  • The Rams are 3-5 versus the Gulls according to the record books, which are missing the 1995 campaign, as well as the 2022 season. 
  • The Rams fell in the last meeting, 8-1, at Endicott a year ago, Sept. 25, 2021. 
  • Suffolk's last win over the Gulls came by a 7-2 margin, Oct. 4, 2007. 
  • There has never been a shutout in the all-time series between the foes. 

CCC OPENERS

  • Suffolk is 0-1 when playing its first match of the CCC campaign. 
  • The Rams faced Salve Regina in its 2021 CCC opener and fell, 8-1.
  • It will be the first time the blue-and-gold starts the CCC season against Endicott and as the home team.
