Women’s Tennis Setback at UMass Boston, 8-1

BOSTON – In a Beantown battle, Suffolk women's tennis came out on the wrong side of an 8-1 non-conference match as UMass Boston prevailed over the Rams Tuesday night at the BC High School Tennis Courts.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 1 | UMass Boston 8
RECORDS: Suffolk (1-6) | UMass Boston (4-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
UMass Boston put the first pair of points on the board with wins on the first and third doubles court, respectively. Suffolk sprung on the scoreboard after a second doubles spot thriller as Bianca Prescott and Jordan Miller teamed up for an 8-7 (13-11) super tiebreaker triumph over Valeria Tueme and Shelby Parent.

The Rams could not ride the momentum off that victory, however, as the Beacons put on cruise control, sweeping singles play to take the 8-1 non-conference decision.
