BELMONT, Mass. – Suffolk women's tennis was shutout by Roger Williams, 9-0, Monday night as the Rams wrapped up a season-opening, three-match homestand at the Belmont Hill School.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks quickly put three points on the board behind wins on the second and first doubles courts, respectively, and a default by the Rams on the third court.  

Singles played in Roger Williams favor as it sailed to the victory by taking the first four matches played on courts two through five.  

Ilda Ascic put up the biggest fight. The sophomore took the first set, 7-5, fell in the second to Alessia Cahoon and could not rally in the tiebreaker, 10-3, which sealed the Rams, 9-0 setback.

DOUBLES

2 – Jessica Magliato/Taryn Roche (Roger Williams) def. Jordan Miller/Bianca Prescott (Suffolk), 8-1

  • Suffolk and Roger Williams met for the fifth time overall since 2007 and first since 2017.
