WINCESTER, Mass. – The Suffolk women's tennis team picked up its first points of the 2017 slate, but it would not be enough as Bridgewater State defeated the Rams, 7-2, Thursday afternoon at the Winchester Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Bears took a 3-0 lead out of doubles action. From there, Danyln Medou put the Rams on the board with a 6-2, 6-3, win over Olivia Sweeney in the sixth spot. A golden match by BSU's Bojana Roman against Suffolk's Elena Cisneros Garcia on the second court set up match point for the visitors, which they secured thanks to a 6-0, 6-1 victory by Alison Scagnellis versus senior captain Isabel Rathlev. 

With the match already won by the Bears, Delaney Dunlap wrapped up the night with a thrilling 2-6, 6-4, 11-9 win on court won, defeating BSU's ace Alisha Silva.

• Dunlap recorded her first victory as a Suffolk Ram.

Suffolk continues its home stretch next Thursday, Sept. 21 when the Rams entertain Wentworth at North Reading High School at 6 p.m.
