Women’s Tennis Pair Pick Up ITA Scholar-Athlete Nod

ITA 2017 All-Academic Teams & Scholar Athletes - Division III Women

BOSTON – Meagan French and Jacquelyn Nakamura of the Suffolk women's tennis earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades the organization announced.

To achieve the feat, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and varsity letter status. Both Rams picked up the honor for the first time in their careers.

French and Nakamura join an elite group of Suffolk student-athletes to be recognized for their success in the classroom and are two of just seven students from GNAC schools on the national list in 2017. St. Joseph (Conn.) had three representatives; while Simmons matched Suffolk's two.

As a whole, Suffolk's athletic department achieved a 3.21 GPA over the 2016-17 calendar year, with 83 Rams earning all-conference academic recognition – a record 69 by the GNAC and 14 from the CCC (men's hockey).
