Medina Earns Second GNAC Corvias Player of the Week Honor

BOSTON – For the second time this season and in as many weeks, Suffolk women's tennis' Valentina Medina was named GNAC Corvias Player of the Week the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Medina has been a staple of success for Suffolk throughout her career and last week's four matches were no different. The junior posted a 7-1 week going undefeated in singles (4-0) and dropping just one doubles match across four matches. The San Andres, Colombia native played in Suffolk's top two spots on both courts and improved to 6-0 in singles play on the year and 7-2 on the doubles court.

Throughout her two-year collegiate career, Medina is a perfect 21-0 in singles and 21-3 in doubles playing exclusively on courts one and two.

The Rams and Medina return to action Tuesday, Sept. 20 when they close their road stretch and open GNAC play at Simmons. The contest is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
