Women’s Tennis Recognized with ITA All-Academic Award

2016 ITA ALL-ACDAEMIC TEAMS AND SCHOLAR ATHLETES

BOSTON – For the second straight season, the Suffolk women's tennis team has been recognized with the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award. Additionally, two Rams were tabbed ITA Scholar-Athletes by the national organization. 

To qualify as an ITA All-Academic Team, the student-athletes must maintain a cumulative team grade point average of 3.2 or above on a 4.0 scale, with each eligible player needing to compete in at least one varsity match. Individually, a 3.5 grade point average and varsity letter are required to be an ITA Scholar. 

Suffolk posted a 3.318 grade point average in 2015-16. The Rams were one on three GNAC teams to be recognized as Johnson & Wales and Simmons also earned the nod. Across all divisions, over 700 teams and more than 4,200 student-athletes made the list. To view a complete list of individuals and institutions honored, click here. 

Similar to the team, Rebecca Eshoo and Lyndsay Reese, both recent graduates for the University, received the honor for the second straight season. 

As a whole, Suffolk's athletic department achieved a 3.2 GPA over the 2015-16 calendar year, which comprised of 210 student-athletes.
