Women's Tennis Earn Multiple All-Conference Honors

The Suffolk University Women's Tennis team took home multiple awards by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for the 2014 season.

Sophomore Aidiana Sagyndykova (Almaty, Kazakhstan) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Year for Women's Tennis.

Sagyndykova finished a stellar 2014 campaign that saw her win 13 consecutive singles matches to tie the Suffolk single season modern day record for victories in a season. Playing in the number one position in individual play, Sagyndykova put together a 13-1 record during this year's season. She was also named a first team All-Conference selection as well as being named to the conference's All-Tournament team for her playoff effort.

Junior Rebecca Eshoo (Farmington, Conn.) was named a second team All-Conference selection in singles play.

Eshoo played the majority of the season in the number singles spot for Suffolk. She recorded a 9-5 overall record on the year and was 5-1 in conference action.

Through three seasons Eshoo has won a total of 15 games in individual play.

She also combined to win a total of eight games on the season in doubles action. She primarily played with fellow classmate Abby Trigilio (Ipswich, Mass.) as Suffolk's second duo as they posted a 7-3 mark in partners play. The duo combined for one of Suffolk's two wins in the conference semifinals as they won their doubles match and were a perfect 2-0 in the playoff tournament.

Senior Adrianna Garrett (Plymouth, Mass.) was named to the GNAC's All-Sportsmanship team. She wraps up a four year career that saw her win a total of 17 matches. She collected seven wins this season in the number two position for Suffolk.

Suffolk finished the 2014 season with an 8-7 overall record. They were the number three seed in this year's GNAC Tournament with a 4-2 mark as they advanced to the conference semifinals before a 5-2 setback to Johnson & Wales ended their season.
