Women's Tennis Blank Emerson 9-0

The Suffolk University Women's Tennis team concluded the 2014 regular season with a 9-0 victory over Emerson College on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore Aidiana Sagyndykova (Almaty, Kazakhstan) improved to an 11-1 record on the year in singles play as she took the number one individual game with 6-1, 6-2 wins. Sagyndykova was one of four players to earn multiple wins on the night for Suffolk.

Senior Adrianna Garrett (Plymouth, Mass.) was a winner in the second singles match as she earned 6-3, 6-2 victories in her sets.

Both Sagyndykova and Garrett partnered for 10th victory of the season as a duo as they put together an 8-1 victory in the top doubles game.

Juniors Rebecca Eshoo (Farmington, Conn.) and Abby Trigilio (Ipswich, Mass.) swept through the second doubles contest with an 8-0 victory.

Eshoo took the third singles contest with 6-2, 6-0 set victories while Trigilio won the fourth individual game with consecutive 6-0 scores.

Freshmen Isabel Rathlev (Wellesley, Mass.) and Jacqueline Nakamura (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) combined for an 8-0 win in the third doubles game to move to a 6-3 record on the season as a duo.

Rounding out the field for Suffolk were freshman Johanna Sitahal (Trinidad, Tobago) who was the winner in the fifth singles game while junior Lyndsay Reese (Saco, Me.) completed the sweep with a win in the sixth game.

The victory moves Suffolk to a 7-6 overall record on the season.

 

The will now wait for the 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament to commence on Wednesday October 22.
