Fall Sports Duo Earn GNAC Weekly Honors

For the second time in as many weeks sophomore Aidiana Sagyndykova (Almaty, Kazakhstan) was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week for Women's Tennis. Freshman Jessica Harmon (Huntington Beach, Calif.) was named Rookie of the Week for Women's Soccer on Monday October 6th.

Sagyndykova won a total of six matches in a three day stretch as Suffolk posted a 2-1 record on the week. Playing as Suffolk's number one in singles play, Sagyndykova swept all three of her individual games in the top position improving her season record to a 7-1 mark. She also paired with senior Adrianna Garrett (Plymouth, Mass.) as Suffolk's top duo in doubles play winning all three matches they played last week. Suffolk currently stands at a 4-5 overall record on the season while they are 2-1 in GNAC action.

Harmon tallied four goals in a pair of GNAC contests on the week as Suffolk tied both games they played. Harmon scored both goals on Wednesday even as the Rams drew even with the St. Joseph's College (Me.) Monks 2-2 at Dilboy Stadium. On Saturday, the freshman striker would score a pair of goals, both on breakaways as Suffolk and Mount Ida College played to a 3-3 tie at home. Suffolk has played to three straight ties to move to a 2-5-3 overall record and 1-1-3 mark in GNAC play. Harmon currently leads the team with five goals in 10 games this and is currently ninth in the GNAC in points scored with 12 on the year.
