Women's Tennis Fall in GNAC Semis

The Suffolk University Women's Tennis 2013 season came to a close on Saturday afternoon with a 6-3 setback at the hands of the Johnson & Wales University Wildcats in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semi-finals.

The second-seeded Wildcats took four of six singles matches and a pair of doubles victories to advance to Sunday's GNAC Championship round where they will take on top seeded Simmons College.

Freshman Aidiana Sagyndykova (Almaty, Kazakhstan) was Suffolk's lone player to earn multiple victories on the day. Sagyndykova took the victory in the top singles match as she defeated junior Samantha Jo Borr (Westfield, N.J.) in straight sets, 7-5 and 6-1. Sagyndykova and senior Adrianna Garrett (Plymouth, Mass.) would partner earlier in the afternoon for an 8-6 victory in the top double contest as they knocked off Jo Borr and senior Ansley Sego (Naperville, Ill.).

Senior Allison Weisenbach (Hamden, Conn.) earned Suffolk only other point on the afternoon as she was victorious in the number five singles game posting 7-5, 6-3 set wins.

The loss ends the season for Suffolk with a 5-9 overall record.
