Women's Tennis Sweep Over Columbus Day Weekend

The Suffolk University Women's Tennis team rolled with two must needed victories in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action over the Columbus Day weekend. The Rams topped Mount Ida College on Saturday afternoon blanking the Mustangs by a 9-0 margin, before travelling to Albertus Magnus College to take an 8-1 victory over the Falcons.

Nine different players earned singles victories over the weekend as the Rams improve to a 3-8 mark on the year.

Sophomore Rebecca Eshoo (Farmington, Conn.) continued her strong play on the year picking up wins in individual contests on both days as she was one of three Suffolk players to do so. Senior Melissa Chermely (Walpole, Mass.) and freshman Lindsay Reese (Saco, Me.) joined Eshoo with multiple victories in each of Suffolk's contests.

Senior Adrianna Garrett (Plymouth, Mass.) won her top singles match in 6-4, 6-1 sets on Monday over Albertus, while freshman Aidiana Sagyndykova (Almaty, Kazakhstan) won the top match on Saturday in straight 6-1 sets.

Suffolk will be back in action on Friday evening as they host Emerson College before rounding out their regular season with a GNAC showdown with the Blue Jays of Saint Joseph University on Saturday.
