Women's Tennis Fall to Springfield, 8-1
The Springfield College women's tennis team won its fifth-straight match, 8-1 over visiting Suffolk on Thursday.
 
The Pride improve to 6-3 with the win, while Suffolk falls to 0-6 on the season. Springfield won five of six singles matches and swept all three doubles.
 
Rachel London (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) defeated Aidiana Sagyndykova, 6-3, 6-2. Melanie Thulin (Manchester Center, Vt.) cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win over Stacey Politis. Stephanie Foster (Woodbridge, Conn.) (6-2, 6-1), Ariana Shemms (Goshen, Conn.) (6-3, 6-1), and Alanna Grady (Springfield, Mass.) (6-1, 6-4) all won for Springfield.
 
Foster and London won 8-1 in doubles, Shemms and Thulin also won 8-1 and Grady and Sydney Streimer (Mystic, Conn.) took an 8-0 doubles win.
 
Adrianna Garrett (7-6, 6-0) was the only winner for Suffolk.
 
Springfield will host Mount Holyoke on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. Suffolk hosts Anna Maria, Saturday at noon.
