Women's Tennis Win Third Straight

The Suffolk University Women's Tennis team won their third straight match with an 8-1 victory over the UMass-Boston Beacons on Thursday evening.

The Rams swept all three doubles contests and took five of six singles games to improve to a 6-7 overall mark on the year.

Senior Kelly Conrad (Lanstuhl, Germany) and sophomore Erica LeBlanc (Londonderry, N.H.) partnered together in the first doubles match for an 8-2 victory.

In the second match senior Allison Weisenbach (Hamden, Conn.) and sophomore Adrianna Garrett (Plymouth, Mass.) combined for an 8-3 victory. It was junior Melissa Chermely (Walpole, Mass.) and junior Stacey Politis (Saugus, Mass.) rounding out the partners sweeps for the Rams as they took their third set by an 8-3 victory as well.

Garrett earned her team-leading eighth victory of the season in singles play as she swept the number two game with 7-5 and 6-1 victories.

Both Chermely and Politis were also multiple victors on the night as they won their individual contests. Chermely swept the number four game with 6-2, 6-1 wins, while Politis won consecutive 6-3 matches in the sixth position.

Junior Elizabeth Arkins (Melrose, Mass.) win a 7-3 tiebreak in the third singles game and freshman Rebecca Eshoo (Farmington, Conn.) rounded out the Suffolk victories with 6-2, 6-3 wins in the fifth singles game for the Rams.



Suffolk will conclude their regular season schedule on Friday evening as they take on Albertus Magnus College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at 7:00pm
