Women's Tennis Roll Past St. Joseph (Ct) 8-1

The  Suffolk University Women's Tennis team rolled past St. Joseph College (Ct.) on Saturday by a score of 8-1.

Sophomore Lauren Cameron (Kingston, Jamaica) made her first appearance in the top spot for the Rams, but the results remained the same as she won 6-0, 6-0 to remain unbeaten in 2009. Cameron has now won all eight of her sets in singles play by a score of 6-0. Cameron also partnered with freshman Celia Contreras (Caracas, Venezuela) in doubles to earn an 8-1 victory.

Contreras picked up her first win of the year in singles play in the two position for the Rams winning 5-2, 6-1.

Sophomore Kelly Conrad (Lanstahl, Germany) earned two wins for the Rams both in singles and doubles play. Conrad was victorious in the three spot in singles, and then partnered with junior Katelyn Paquette (Southbury, CT) in doubles for a win.

The Rams play again on Thursday as they travel to Rhode Island College to take on RIC in a non-conference matchup beginning at 3:30pm.
