Ernst Cleophat enters his eighth season as the Head Coach of the Suffolk University Women’s Soccer program. Cleophat has been the team’s lone coach since the program’s inception to varsity intercollegiate status during the 2007 season and served as head coach for the two years prior at club status.

During his tenure, the Women’s Soccer team has earned multiple recognitions by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for academic excellence as well as team sportsmanship. Suffolk has also earned a total of 17 All-Conference honors by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) which includes two Offensive Player of the Year awards (Leslie Hayden, 2011 and Taylor Miranda, 2010) and a pair of Rookie of the Year Awards (Gabrielle Balestrier, 2010 and Leslie Hayden, 2009). In seven seasons, Cleophat has helped guide Suffolk to a total of 47 victories including a pair of trips to the conference championship game (2012, 14). Suffolk finished the 2011 season with the league’s best regular season record at 10-2 and qualified for their first Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Championship tournament with a 13-4-1 overall record.

Cleophat was born and raised in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti before coming to Boston where he attended Suffolk University. In 2009, Cleophat was elected to the Suffolk University Athletics Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a former Men’s Soccer player.
