Peraza Goal Forces Women’s Soccer’s 1-1 Tie with Endicott

EAST BOSTON – With crucial Conference of New England points on the line, Suffolk women's soccer ended up tying Endicott, 1-1, thanks to Isa Peraza's goal in the 75th minute Wednesday night at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Endicott scored early, 17:35 into the action, as Madeline Barbieri centered a pass for Morgan Hubert to head home.  

That one-goal advantage remained for the visitors at the break.  

Suffolk put on the pressure in the second stanza and its persistence ended up paying off with just about 15 remaining in regulation. On a corner kick sent in by Charli Adam's Gabriella Duggan had the initial attempt that bounced off the cross bar. Luckily for the blue-and-gold, Peraza picked up the pieces and wasted no time heading it past the Gulls' keeper Samantha MacCormack to level the playing field at 1-all.

The score stayed the same the rest of the way thanks to three pivotal Arden Ferrari-Henry saves for Suffolk in the final nine minutes

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Ferrari-Henry finished with six saves in the contest. 
  • MacCormack had a pair of stops for Endicott.  

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Peraza scored Suffolk's only goal of the night thanks to set-up from Duggan. 
  • Endicott outshot Suffolk, 19-11, including a 7-3 edge in shots on target. 
  • The Rams had more corner kicks though, 7-5.  

NOTEWORTHY

  • Suffolk scored its first-ever goal against Endicott. 
  • The Rams moved to 0-4-2 all-time against Endicott. 
  • It is the first time in the all-time series that there was not a shutout between the Rams and Gulls. 
  • The Rams are unbeaten, 0-0-2 when hosting Endicott. 
  • In CNE contests, Suffolk is now 0-2-2 versus the Gulls. 
  • The Rams are now 0-2-1 against Endicott in the Ellie McDougall era. 
  • Peraza potted her second goal of the year. 
  • Duggan registered her first collegiate point with one assist.
