HOW IT HAPPENED
Gordon got on the board first. Eowyn Lapp handled a feed from Ada Forbes near the end line and at an impossible angle, the sophomore curled the ball into the far upper netting to put the Rams in a 1-0 hole at the 11:20 mark of the opening half.

The Fighting Scots stretched their advantage 15 minutes into the second half. Kristi DiRico sent a pass to a wide open Forbes who booted a shot that bounced off a defender, over the Rams' keeper Arden Ferrari-Henry, and into the net.

Suffolk eliminated the shutout two minutes later. Lily Goldmann zoomed up the pitch on a breakaway where Emily Bengtson came out of the goal to make the initial save. Goldmann managed to regain possession oof Bengston's turned aside attempt and cut the deficit in half.

In the final 25-plus minutes, Gordon's defense backed up Bengston to hold strong and seal Suffolk's setback, its first of the season.
