Women’s Soccer Plays Lesley to 1-1 Draw

LEXINGTON, Mass. – Suffolk women's soccer met Lesley Tuesday night and the long-time foes could not decide a winner after 90 minutes of regulation as the score held at 1-1 at Minutemen Tech to end the non-conference tilt in a stalemate.

THE BASICS
SCORE: Suffolk 1 | Lesley 1
RECORDS: Suffolk (5-0-1) | Lesley (1-2-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk took a one-goal lead into halftime as Sinclaire Hart found the back of the net with help from Maci Pekmezian at the 26:03 mark.

The Lynx looked to capitalize on Suffolk's yellow card in the box in the 71st minute. Zoe Curtaz set up at the line and fired an attempt at Arden Ferrari-Henry, who denied the first attempt. Curtaz immediately picked up her rebound and fired again and Ferrari-Henry jumped up just in time to dive to punch out the second shot. The whistle blew and the ref said Ferrari-Henry left her mark too early, which allowed Curtaz to set up again. This time the penalty kick paid off for Lesley and the score leveled at 1-all.

Ferrari-Henry was tested four more times, each of which the sophomore stopped.

Suffolk, meanwhile, had two more chances on target in the final seven minutes. Lauren Lacy locked up both attempts to hold things even at the final whistle.
