Senior Trio to Captain Women’s Soccer in 2024

BOSTON – Three seniors will wear the 'C' for the 2024 Suffolk women's soccer season as third-year head coach Ellie McDougall has announced that Chelsea FallonKylie Flynn and Grace Owens will share the role.

Owens returns to her post after earning the title for the first time last year, while Fallon and Flynn step into the position for the first time in their collegiate carers. It is the third consecutive campaign that three Rams will together as captains.

"I think this group of captains are high character people with the makings of good leaders," McDougall said. "Above all, they display that they care deeply about their teammates through their selfless nature and are devoted to leaving the Suffolk women's soccer program a better place than they found it."

Owens, a Sutton, Massachusetts native who is only defensive player in Suffolk's history to collect an all-region honor, will return to her spot in the backline to lead the way in front of the blue-and-gold's net.

Flynn, who hails from Stoughton, Massachusetts, has been a staple in Suffolk's starting line-up the last two years. In three seasons she has appeared in 51 games, starting 41 at the midfield with 16 points to her credit including four goals and eight helpers.

Fallon brought her talents to Boston from Saint Johns, Florida and has started 39 of the 52 games she competed in over the last three years.  The midfielder has produced 17 points, six in the last two seasons, on a nearly evenly divided stat line of six strikes and five set-ups.

The tri-captains will lead McDougall's 33-player roster into the program's 18th varsity campaign that gets underway Sunday, Sept. 1 at Elms at 1 p.m.
