
EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer returned to the win column in shutout fashion as the Rams ran past Mass. Maritime, 3-0, Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park. Avery Porter potted two goals, while Makena Columbus was responsible for the blue-and-gold's third strike of the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk controlled the game from the get-go and on the Rams second corner of the afternoon Porter put them on the board. The freshman converted Kylie Flynn's corner kick into a scoring header that gave the blue-and-gold a one-goal edge at the 23:02 mark.
Seven minutes later, Porter scored an unassisted tally that doubled the distance and send Suffolk into the locker room up by a pair.
Two minutes out of the intermission, Columbus scored from about 10 yards out on a pass by Madelyn Murray to extend the advantage to 3-0.
Things stayed that way the rest of the despite the Rams putting six more shots on target.
KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS
- Suffolk's starter Arden Ferrari-Henry earned the victory after playing the first 45 minutes, while Sophia Barker went to defend the net for the second half off the bench.
- Neither Rams' netminder faced a shot on target all day.
- Brady Deschamps took the loss after giving up two goals. She had five saves in the first frame.
- Reagan Kerecz logged six stops over the second half.
