Women’s Soccer’s 13th Season Schedule Unveiled

2019 SUFFOLK WOMEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE

BOSTON – Suffolk women's soccer will play its 13th varsity season in 2019 with a 16-match schedule including nine matches on the Rams home turf at East Boston Memorial Park, head coach Ashley Van Vechten released Wednesday morning.

Suffolk gets started on the road Labor Day Weekend with a trek to Elms on the slate Sunday, Sept. 1.

Ram Nation will not have to wait long to watch the blue-and-gold in action though as a four-game homestand follows the season debut. The homestay features non-conference clashes against Fitchburg State (Sept. 7), Mass. Maritime (Sept. 10) and Framingham State (Sept. 16) as well as the conference opener, which is set for Saturday, Sept. 14 against Simmons.

The Rams close out September on the road as they are set to stop by Colby Sawyer (Sept. 21), Anna Maria (Sept. 25) and Regis (Sept. 28).

In October, Suffolk will play five of its final eight games on the friendly confines of James A. Sartori Stadium. Norwich comes to Eastie first for a mid-week match Wednesday, Oct. 2.

A Saturday, Oct. 5 showdown at Emmanuel breaks up the homestand that will pick up again versus Wednesday, Oct. 9 when Lasell visits Eastie. Suffolk will celebrate its seniors Saturday, Oct. 12 against Johnson & Wales and will face Albertus Magnus at home Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The final road trips of the year will send Suffolk to Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Oct. 19) and Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Oct 23).

Suffolk will wrap up the regular-season in front of its home crowd Wednesday, Oct. 30 when it welcomes Rivier to East Boston Memorial Park.

The main catalyst to Van Vechten's offense from a year ago, Caleigh O'Brien (13g, 1a), returns to the lineup for her junior season. Julia Hunt (5g, 2a) and keeper Allison Rodrigues (1.58 GAA, .802 save %) are also back in blue-and-gold after stand-up rookie campaigns.
