Lasell Runs by Women’s Soccer, 4-0

NEWTON, Mass. – Lasell added on to its one-goal half-time advantage with a trio of markers in the second stanza to take down Suffolk women's soccer, 4-0, Thursday afternoon at Taylor Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk's defense stood tall for the first 43 minutes before Lasell capitalized on a free kick in the 44th minute as Kaylee Contreras found the back of the netting with 1:25 remaining in the first frame. 

Contreras connected on the counter attack in the bottom of the right to stretch the Lasers lead to two 10 minutes into the second stanza.   

Lasell maintained momentum the rest of the way with Caitlin Rotonnelli and Narissa Libby scoring one goal apiece to length the Lasers lead it would never relinquish.

KEEPING UP WITH THE KEEPERS

  • Allison Rodrigues faced 12 shots and turned aside eight.
  • Angela Sanzari made four saves for the hosts. 

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Caleigh O'Brien and Julia Hunt combined for all four of Suffolk's shots, all of which were on target. The former had three to her credit, while the latter took one.
  • Lasell had a commanding 21-4 shot advantage with an 8-4 in attempts on net.
  • The Lasers took all three of the conference contest's corners. 

NOTEWORHTY

  • Rodrigues collected a career-high eight saves.
