SALEM, N.H. - Bob and Colleen Nagri treated their daughter to a vacation in Italy after her brilliant four years at Suffolk University.

In the whirlwind life of Alexandra "Alex" Nagri, you half-wonder if she might purchase the Colosseum while she's there.

The Salem resident graduated with a near-perfect 3.926 GPA as a double major in finance and accounting. The 5-foot-1 Nagri starred in both soccer (two-time all-league, 46 career goals) and basketball (3-year starter, 691 career points). And, of course, she captained both teams.

She capped her Suffolk career by winning the prestigious Charles Law Student-Athlete Award in May.

"I'm very type A personality," said the Central Catholic graduate as she was en route to Tuscany from Venice. "If I have no plan, it's the end of the world. My mom said when I was little I'd just create lists and lists."

Accomplishing all she did at Suffolk was no easy task.

"I had no social life from August to March," she said. "Realistically it was class, practice and go home (to study)."

The accommodations were nice as she lived in the North End.

"It was small but the location is awesome. You walk out and you're on Hanover Street," said Nagri.

There is no sweating out getting a job. Nagri impressed her colleagues at her internship at CBRE commercial real estate in Downtown Crossing so much that they kept her on part-time last year. Now she's fulltime in the underwriting group.

No doubt the CBRE folks were impressed that Alex, two summers ago, earned her realtor's license in her spare time.

Vienneau, too

Coincidentally, another Central basketball player from Salem, Jacqueline Vienneau, won Suffolk's student-athlete award in 2013.
