BOSTON – The Suffolk women's soccer team heads back out on the road Saturday, Oct. 8 as the Rams make the long haul to Norwich. Game time is slated for 3:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Suffolk women's soccer team overcame a one-goal, halftime deficit, but could not hold off a late rally from Saint Joseph's (Maine) Hannah Butler as the Monks overcame the Rams, 3-1, in GNAC play at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park Wednesday night.

DOUBLE FEATURE
For the third time in 2016, the Suffolk men's and women's soccer teams will be playing in a double header. The men's squad gets Saturday's showdowns started as the Rams take on the Cadets at 1 p.m., followed by the women's contest at Norwich at 3:30 p.m. Both Rams' teams are 1-1 when playing back-to-back this season. 

RUNDOWN ON THE RAMS
Suffolk has fallen in its past five contests to dip to 4-7 overall and 2-4 in GNAC play. The Rams were outscored 22-2 in that five-game stretch. 

Alexandra Nagri has found the back of the net a team-best eight times, which is the third-best goal tally amongst GNAC players. Jennifer Martin, meanwhile, is second on the squad and fourth in the league with seven goals to her credit.  The juniors are the only Rams in double digit points with Nagri's 17 good for third in the conference and Martin's 15 putting the forward in sixth. 

All three of Suffolk's netminders have seen action this season. Kirsten Weiker leads the way with seven starts, 59 saves and a 2.38 goals-against average and Jordan Pettograsso has made six saves in four appearances. Julia Fieldsend has started the last two games with the freshman keeper turning aside 21 attempts for a 3.60 goals-against average.   

CATCH UP ON THE CADETS
Norwich is 1-6 in the last seven outings, all of which were shutouts, to sit at 2-7-1 overall and 1-5 in league play.  The Cadets last win was a 1-0 triumph over GNAC rival Anna Maria. 

In 10 games this year, Norwich has only three goals to its credit. Mehgan McMullen is responsible for two with Ashley Carvalho finding the net once. Jordan Lutz has the Cadets lone assist. 

A trio of keepers has seen action in between the pipes for Norwich with Leandra Flores-Nieves making eight starts. The junior netminder has 79 saves and let 15 balls past her for a .840 save percentage and a 1.76 goals-against average in 767 minutes of action. Both of the Cadets victories have come with Flores-Nieves in net. 

INSIDE THE SERIES
After dropping the first three meetings versus Norwich, Suffolk has rattled off six straight wins to hold a 6-3 all-time series lead against the Cadets. The Rams have outscored 22-8, shutting out the Cadets, five straight times from 2010-14.                                   

EYES ON THE GAME

SHUTOUT
All four of the Rams' victories this season are shutouts. The four cleansheets in one year are the most since matching that number in 2013.  

SCORING FRENZY
In the 9-0 victory Wednesday night at Wheelock, Suffolk poured in the most goals (9) since scoring 12 in a 12-0 shutout win over Anna Maria Oct. 24, 2012. The nine tallies are the fourth most goals all-time in the program's 10-year history, with the Rams' tallying nine goals on two other occasions, both 9-0 wins – Oct. 14, 2009 vs. Mass. Maritime and Oct. 13, 2010 vs. Newbury.

MAGINIFICENT MARTIN
Jennifer Martin, who is the first Ram with a multi-goal game since Alexandra Nagri netted two in the season finale last season at Mount Ida, racked up four tallies in the 9-0 triumph at Wheelock Wednesday. Her offensive outpour, she ties the fourth-most goals in a single-game by a Ram and is the most goals by a Ram since Leslie Hayden and Lauren Cameron netted five and four, respectively at Anna Maria Oct. 10, 2011. The junior is also the first Ram to net a hat trick since Nagri did so in a 4-3 win at St. Joseph (Conn.) Sept. 19, 2015.

For the second straight year, Suffolk Athletics invites all members of Ram Nation to East Boston Memorial Park for a double feature soccer contest and #RamsFanFest Saturday, Oct. 15.

Suffolk Athletics has teamed up with Suffolk Free Radio to bring Ram Nation 17 live broadcasts of Suffolk soccer games this season.
