Women’s Soccer Stopped at Emerson

BOSTON – Kaitlin Flores became just the third opponent to score a goal against Emerson's undefeated defense this season, but the tally would not be enough as the Suffolk women's soccer team was stopped at Emerson Tuesday night in a cross-city rivalry at Rotch Field.

Entering the contest the Lions (6-0) had three shutouts on their perfect 5-0 record, but Flores' first collegiate goal in the 84th minute made sure the Rams (0- 5) would not be number four. The unassisted tally came just six minutes before the final horn sounded with Emerson holding a safe lead of 3-0.

Alexandra Dezenzo got the scoring going for the Lions in the first half off a pass from Mollie Coyne. Dezenzo struck again in the 57th minute, this using a feed from Alyssa Giannone. Jess Front's unassisted goal in the 74th minute wrapped up the scoring and Emerson's sixth victory of the season.

The Lions held advantage in shots, 15-4, with 12 on net. Kirsten Weiker made nine saves in the contest.

The Rams return to action Thursday night at Regis College at
