Women’s Soccer Picked to Finish Eighth in GNAC Preseason Poll

BOSTON – The Suffolk women's soccer team has been picked to finish eighth in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) preseason coaches' poll, the league office announced Tuesday.  

With 57 points the Rams finished ahead of Mount Ida (49), Anna Maria (26), Norwich (26) and Rivier (22). Lasell is predicted to win its sixth straight GNAC title with eight first-place votes. Emmanuel (129) is pegged to finish second, with Simmons (124), Albertus Magnus (107) and St. Joseph (Conn.) (91) picked to round out the top five.

Suffolk, which finished the 2014 season 5-9-3 (4-4-3 GNAC), returns 12 players including reigning GNAC Rookie of the Year Jessica Harmon.
 
In his first season as head coach Darren Lloyd will lead Suffolk into its first-game of the season Thursday, Sept. 3 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
