Balestrier's Lone Strike Turns Out to Be the Difference

For the third time this season the Suffolk University Women's Soccer team has won a match, 1-0 and all three times junior Gabrielle Balestrier (Mohnton, Pa.) had scored the game's lone goal.

Balestrier scored her fourth goal of the season, and third game winning goal in the fiftieth minute of Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) matchup with the Rivier College Raiders.

The win improves the Rams overall record to a 3-6 on the season with a 3-4 mark in GNAC play.

Sophomore Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.) turned aside 12 shots as she posted her second shutout of the season.

The Raiders held a 24-15 advantage in shots in the contest, but Balestrier's lone strike was the difference maker in propelling Suffolk to victory.

Suffolk will be back in action on Wednesday afternoon as they travel to Tufts University for a non-conference matchup with the Jumbos at 4:00pm.
