Wolf's Late Heroics Propel Rams to 1-0 Victory

The Suffolk University Rams (4-6, 3-5 GNAC) defeated the Albertus Magnus College Falcons (7-4, 5-3 GNAC) by a 1-0 margin on Wednesday evening in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.

Sophomore Monica Wolf (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) scored the lone goal of the game with five minutes remaining as Suffolk earns their fourth win of the season, and second in GNAC play. Wolf took a cross pass from senior Leslie Hayden (Ross, Calif.) and connected on a shot from 25 yards out that sailed up into the top half of the Falcons goal for the game-winner.

Both teams struggled to get much going offensively as the see-saw battle only saw a combined 18 shots in the contest as the Rams held a 12-6 advantage.

Freshman Melissa Brouillette (Shelton, Conn.) needed to only make two saves as she picks up her third win of the season and second shutout.

Senior Sarah Boudreau (Pascoag, R.I.) made four saves in an emergency start in goal for the Falcons. Boudreau made the biggest save of the night in the game's seventieth minute as she came running out of the net to cut off a shot from Suffolk sophomore forward Gabrielle Balestrier (Mohnton, Pa.).

Sophomore Meaghan Skidmore (Terryville, Conn.) squandered two scoring opportunities for the Falcons as he missed on two shots that just sailed high of the Suffolk net.

Both teams will be back in GNAC action on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons will host Emerson College on 3:15pm. Suffolk travels to Mount Ida College to take on the Mustangs at 1:00pm
