Women's Soccer Roll Past Pine Manor

The Suffolk University Women's Soccer team (10-2-1, 8-2 GNAC) continued to score goals at a whopping pace netting a dozen in a 12-0 victory over Pine Manor College (0-12-1, 0-9 GNAC).

Junior Leslie Hayden (Ross, Calif.) scored four goals and added an assist as the Rams won their sixth game in a row.

Freshman Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) picked up her second hat trick of the season to bring her season goal total to 20, tying Hayden for the most ever scored in a single season.

Freshmen Meghan McHale (Halifax, Mass.) and Natalie Favati (Singapore, Singapore) each scored the first goals of their collegiate careers in the game as well.

Senior goalkeeper Emily Joyce (Easton, Mass.) needed to make only four saves as she picked up her sixth shutout of 2010. The highlight of the day perhaps was Joyce scoring her first goal as well, as her penalty kick in the game's  seventy-sixth minute was successful.

Sophomore Kelsey Cavaretta (Marcellus, N.Y.) recorded three assists on the day as well for the Rams and freshman Monica Wolf (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) scored two more goals to bring her total for the week to four.

The 12 goals scored are the most ever scored in a game by a Suffolk University Soccer program. The Suffolk Men's team netted eleven earlier this year against Wheelock College.

The Rams have now outscored their opponents 21-0 over their past two games.

The Rams will be back in action on Tuesday evening as they host Johnson & Wales University in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action at 7:00pm. The game will be the last regular season home contest for the Rams who will honor their first senior class in the program's four-year varsity history. The event will also be a part of Suffolk Spirit Night.
