Hayden, Rams Top Eagles 3-0

Somerville, MA - Sophomore Leslie Hayden (Ross, CA) netted her third career hat trick to lead the Suffolk University Rams (2-0 overall) to a 3-0 victory Wednesday evening over the Daniel Webster College Eagles (1-1 overall).

Hayden put the Rams up quick, scoring unassisted in the game's third minute as she broke past an Eagle defender for an early 1-0 lead. She later scored on a feed from sophomore Gina Dean (Revere, MA) and freshman Brittany Clayton (West Simsbury, CT). Clayton also added an assist on Hayden's third goal, while leading the team with five shots on goal.

Suffolk spent most of the game of the offensive attack as they outshot the Eagles 18-3. Sophomore goalkeeper Amy Waller (Berlin, MA) made eight saves in a losing effort for the Eagles. Junior Emily Joyce (Easton, MA) only needed to make two saves as she posts her second career shutout.

The Rams will begin their GNAC conference schedule on Saturday as they host Lasell College at 6:00pm at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, MA.
