BEVERLY, Mass. – Zoe Peckham of the Suffolk women's lacrosse team has been selected as the Conference of New England (CNE) Rookie of the Week after helping the Rams start CNE play, 2-0.
Peckham produced 13 points in the two-game week on five goals and eight assists to go along with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers.
The Tiverton, Rhode Island product put on her hero cape in Suffolk's CNE opener Wednesday as she scored the game-winner in the second overtime to send the blue-and-gold past the Colonels of Curry, 16-15. In that outing, she scored a pair of strikes and set-up a career-high four markers.
Three days later, the attacker matched a personal-best four helpers and poured in three goals to help Suffolk soar by Wentworth, 19-9. The hat trick was the third of her collegiate career and matches a career-high in goals scored by the freshman.
Peckham has provided at least one point to all of Suffolk's game this season to help the Rams build a 6-4 overall mark and 2-0 league ledger.
The weekly award is a first for Peckham in her collegiate career and marks the fourth for Suffolk this season as Ally Colburn was tabbed the league's best player and rookie of the week March 24 and Dickinson took home CNE Rookie of the Week March 3.
Peckham and Suffolk return to action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 1 when they visit Western New England for a 4:00 p.m. CNE tangle.
