
EAST BOSTON – The Suffolk women's lacrosse team lifted the lid on its Conference of New England (CNE) calendar in thrilling fashion with a double-overtime 16-15 victory over Curry. Zoe Peckham put away the golden goal at the 3:25 mark of the second overtime with help from Jessie Le to help the Rams start their league schedule in the win column.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The game was even at 5-all after the first frame. Ally Colburn poured in two goals in the opening quarter. Le, Julia Dickinson and Peckham added one apiece.
The Rams controlled the opening of the second stanza as it outscored the Colonels, 4-1, to jump in front, 9-6. Once again Colburn was responsible for a pair of goals in this stretch. Dickinson pitched in one and Charlotte Goodmanfound the back of the net as well.
Curry closed out the quarter with four unanswered to send Suffolk into halftime down 10-9.
Five straight Suffolk strikes got the third quarter underway and gave the blue-and-gold a 14-10 upperhand. The déjà vu of Colburn providing two goals to the scoring stretch continued. Dickinson tallied two goals as well in that rally and Lauren Woods recorded one.
Curry closed the gap to three as it outscored the Rams 2-1 over the final 3:34.
It was all Curry in the fourth as it kept Suffolk off the scoreboard and poured in three goals to even the score at 15-all.
After a scoreless first overtime, Peckham put on her hero cape with 25 seconds left before the teams switched sides thanks to a feed from Le to send Suffolk to victory.
