BOSTON – Suffolk women's lacrosse is one step closer to debuting as head coach Carolynn Keal has unveiled that freshmen Gracelyn Laperle and Lauren Woods will share the leadership responsibility as co-captains of the inaugural squad in 2025.
The pair is a part of the 16-player roster assembled after a year of recruiting by first-year coach Keal. Both Laperle and Woods are among the 11-member freshmen class. The former is a defender and the latter represents the midfielders.
Laperle brought her talents to Beantown from Woodstock, Vermont. At Woodstock Union she was a three-sport letterwinner, earning the status in lacrosse, field hockey and ice hockey, and she captained each of the squads, respectively.
Woods, meanwhile, came to Title Town from Peabody, Massachusetts. She was a four-year letterwinner at Bishop Fenwick where she was a CCL All-Star as a junior, NEC All-Star as a sophomore and three-time Salem NewsHonorable Mention selection. Academically, she was a member of National Honor Society and DECA.
With the co-captains named, Suffolk is scheduled to lift the lid on its inaugural schedule this Saturday, Feb. 22 when it travels to Dean for a 12:00 p.m. draw.
