No. 12 Endicott Ends Women’s Ice Hockey’s Season in CNE Semis, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – Suffolk women's ice hockey saw its 2024-25 season end Saturday afternoon as the fifth-seeded Rams fell to the tournament's top seed, No. 12 Endicott, 3-1, in the Conference of New England (CNE) Semifinals at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Endicott took an early advantage as Samantha Fantasia put the puck away 9:46 into the contest with help from Teaghan Hall and Rivers Morris. 

The Gulls' twosome of Morris and Fantasia teamed up again 53 seconds out of the first intermission to pad the host advantage to a pair. 

The Rams sliced the deficit to 2-1 as they made their way onto the scoreboard less than two minutes later thanks to Bella Schmidt, who was set-up by Kate Pohl and Maddie Gagliano 

Fantasia restored the two-goal margin 3:07 later as she potted her second of the day to make it 3-1 Endicott.

The scoring stood still from there as Lauren Ferrari stopped all 13 the Rams attempts at a comeback.  

NETMINDER NOTES

  • Katelyn Michals had 44 saves in the setback. 
  • Ferrari registered 24 stops in the victory.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING

  • Schmidt scored Suffolk's lone goal of the game. 
  • Pohl and Gagliano dished out one assist each. 
  • Endicott outshot Suffolk, 47-25. 
  • The Rams went 0-for-3 on the power play and successfully skated off two penalties. 
  • The blue-and-gold won the face-off battle, 26-21.
