HOW IT HAPPENED
A power play marker by Cassie Borowski put Suffolk on the board at the 16:34 mark of the first frame. From the left hand side of the Nor'Easters zone Bella Schmidt sent a shot towards the cage that Kirsten DiCicco denied and sent it to the opposite blue line. Sammy Lassman picked it up and found a waiting Borowski in front for the quick shot that started the scoring.
UNE snuck in front in the second as it put away two goals over a 5:50 span to put the Rams in a 2-1 hole.
In an even third period Suffolk attempted to battle back and level the playing field, but DiCicco continuously came up with saves for the Nor'Easters to seal the setback fate for the Rams.
